Villars-sous-Yens is a small village with 520 inhabitants on the shore of Lake Geneva in the neighbourhood of
Lausanne; has been my home for thirty years. In the past, the region was populated mainly by farmers and
winegrowers, and can be reached from the road crossing through Morges-Lavigny and Saint-Prex to Yens.
The locality is embedded in vineyards and orchards over a modest surface of 311 hectars, including 222 ha of
grassland, fields and forests as well as 18 ha of vineyards and 10 ha of buildings. The main produce are
Chasselas and Gamay wines.
Step by step, in line with callectively grouped one-family houses, its population has increased with a composite
number of professional inhabitants enriching social life.
